Gulls - 2005 Season
As in the previous 2 years the City Centre will be targeted by our egg oiling team. Last year over 1000 eggs were oiled - we hope to do a similar amount this year. The City Council is also carrying out some research into the effectiveness of different sterilizing methodologies. As well as oiling we will be replacing some eggs with plastic or wooden dummy eggs to see if the birds except these and continue to sit on them. We have also sterilized some by boiling. These eggs and nests will be closely monitored to see how the birds react to them. For more information about this, click here.
