First Aid For Teaching Assistants
This full day course has proved to be an enjoyable day, which had raised participants confidence in carrying out first aid. The day will be a balance of theory presented in a lively accessible format. Practical sessions in which everyone will be encouraged to participate to practice and improve the skills learnt. The course will provide certification to appointed persons in school.Learning objectivesUnderstand the principles of first aid. Respond to common accidents, health needs and allergies. Gain practical strategies for making an on-the-scene response.

St. John Ambulance
St. John Ambulance is the UK's leading First Aid, transport and Care charity. Its mission is to provide First Aid and medical support services, caring services in support of community needs and education, training and personal development to young people. Twenty five St. John Ambulance volunteers undertook one of their unusual duties this Bank Holiday Monday (29 May 2006) - administering First Aid to people injured by flying cheese!

First Aid - Public Events
Members of the general public expect a high provision of first aid cover at any public event. Gloucestershire British Red Cross provides efficient and effective first aid cover at all types of events working as part of a team with the statutory services.
